From The Back Of The Card
James Stewart who was born on May 20th, 1909, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, completed his education at Princeton University, where he became star track man, hurdler and high jumper. He studied architecture, but made the mistake of graduating in the middle of the depression, when architects were at a discount. A friend persuaded him to try the stage, as he had done well in amateur shows, and eventually he decided that he would do better as an actor than as an architect. New York success brought him a contract, and he made his debut in a small role in "The Murder Man" in 1935. His latest films are "Shopworn Angel," "Vivacious Lady" and You Can't Take It With You."
