Renee Adoree has had a varied and adventurous life. Born in Lille, France, in 1902, she began her career as an acrobatic dancer while a tiny child. Touring round the Continent dancing, the outbreak of war found her in Russia, but she managed to get to London and thence to New York, where she appeared in musical plays. Between engagements, she tried film work and liked it so much that she gave up the stage entirely, and has appeared in pictures ever since, her best known including "The Big Parade," "La Boheme" and "Mr. Wu." She has black curly hair and blue-grey eyes, and is 5 ft., 2 ins. high.
